Your rights when shopping for mortgage loans
It is important to fully understand your rights when you are shopping for a mortgage. Your have the right to:
- shop around and compare mortgage rates from different lenders;
- know all fees, charges and mortgage rates before signing the loan;
- know why your request for a home loan was turned down by a lender;
- know what fees are non-refundable if you cancel the mortgage;
- know how much the mortgage broker you are using is being paid by you and the lender;
- ask questions about any charges or loan terms you do not understand.
